Understanding Skin Color Inheritance
Skin color inheritance is determined by multiple genes that influence melanin production in the skin. This tester simulates possible skin colors for children based on the selected skin colors of their parents. The colors are generally categorized into five groups: Light, Medium Light, Medium, Medium Dark, and Dark.
The combination of genes from both parents contributes to the range of skin colors that children can inherit. For example, a child with one light-skinned and one dark-skinned parent may inherit a skin tone that is medium or somewhere in between.
